Drama Team Performs Stories from Around the World

The Drama Team performs.

Antioch's drama team performed "Stories from Around the World" on the evening of Thursday, April 28th.  The performance consisted of dramatized stories and folktales from each of the five countries the students have studied this year:  Japan, Belize, Germany, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.  The drama team is one of the after-school clubs that our school began this year.  Thank you Lisa Hansen for heading up this team.

Students in the club performed multiple roles in the five skits.  During their after-school rehearsals, the young actors learned about pantomiming, improvisation, projecting their voices, stage directions and other basic acting techniques.  They played acting games as well as rehearsed for the recent performance.

"My goal was for the actors to feel like they put on a professional theater performance they could be proud of," said Mrs. Hansen, director.  "They far exceeded my expectations!  There is a lot of talent in our troupe.  They put on an entertaining show, and hopefully learned more about other cultures at the same time."  Donna Adams assisted Lisa Hansen in this after-school club, and Homer Graham helped with the sound system.  Thank you parents for allowing your students to stay after school, picking them up after practices and coming to support the drama team.
