SADD but TRU's r.a.b. Campaign

The r.a.b. poster filled with signatures of students who pledged not to text and drive.

Last month Courtney Jackson bought to SADD but TRU's attention a program regarding texting and driving. Courtney stated that it was called r.a.b. which stands for Remember Alex Brown.

Alex was a 17 year old girl who died after her pickup truck crashed and then landed on her after she lost control while texting and driving. On the day Alex died, her parents immediately started the Remember Alex Brown Foundation. They hope to spread the word on the dangers of texting and driving.

SADD but TRU took Courtney's suggestion and ordered some "don't text and drive" thumb bands. Students who drive could take the "Dnt txt and Drv" pledge in which they promise not to text and drive. After signing the pledge poster the students were given a thumb band to help remind them not to text and drive.

There was a huge turn out at the r.a.b booths. They have a few bands left to give to juniors or seniors who are ready to make the pledge.

SADD but TRU is not just about spreading the word about the dangers of drinking and driving but it is about helping students learn to make the right decisions.  More information about the Remember Alex Brown Foundation can be found on this website
