WDES Clues in to Worldly Wise
As a school, each classroom has chosen a country which the students in that class have learned about during the year. The Morning Broadcast Team has begun a new segment entitled “Worldly Wise†to enhance the international studies at our school. Our “Worldly Wise†Contest is a way of sharing some of the information learned with the entire school in a fun, easy to remember format.
The broadcast team asked each class to develop five clues about their international studies country. The clues could include: iconic images, geography clues, cultural norms, or even landforms and natural wonders. Based on these clues, the broadcast team announces one clue each day for a week. Clues are then posted on the bulletin board outside the Media Center so students can review them throughout the week. At the end of the week, each class submits one guess as to which country they’ve been learning about. On the following Monday morning, a brief review of the clues is given as well as a short film segment or some other relevant fact about the mystery country.
