Ancient Egyptian Art

Egyptian artwork created by a fifth grade student

Fifth grade art students at Waxhaw Elementary School have been studying Ancient Egyptian culture focusing on the timeless art pieces created during this period.
Students researched Ancient Egyptian life and learned the following terms, sarcophagus, sphinx, King Tut, Cleopatra, and the Nile River. Integrating these terms in their art- work, students created Egyptian art Replicas.
Fifth graders gained a better understanding of Egyptian art and its unique role it has played in the visual arts throughout the centuries.
Artwork is on display in the school’s globalization case at the entry of the school.
