Student Creates FFA Agricultural Day Documentary
This documentary video project started when my Film Production teacher, Bill Vivian, asked me (Amber Reed, Sophomore) to help him by filming the Future Farmers of America's (FFA) Agricultural Day. I agreed and set out to film. I ended up spending the entire day with the FFA filming Ag Day and learning more about the odds and ends of FFA. I returned to film production class with the footage that I had taken. While spending the day with FFA, I became more interested in FFA and what it was. Because the FFA was foreign to me, I thought it would be interesting to learn more about it, so I decided to do a documentary on FFA's Ag Day.
I began finding people to interview for my documentary and learning more about what FFA did and who was in charge. I found that a lot of hard work went into planning Ag day and that a large number of people were involved. Through this project I feel that I have shed some light on FFA and some of the things that they do. I thoroughly enjoyed making this documentary, and now I can proudly say that FFA is no longer foreign to me.
