Shiloh Elementary principal Scott Spencer,(center, holding broom) and the school’s administrators, teachers and teacher assistants and their families take a break from participation in the United Way’s Day of Caring on Aug. 29, 2011.

Union County Public Schools educators gave back to the community recently by participating in the United Way’s Day of Caring on Aug. 29, 2011.

Shiloh Elementary’s administrators, teachers and teacher assistants and their families worked together to help enhance the Winchester Head Start campus in Monroe, while other UCPS educators, including Superintendent Dr. Ed Davis and several other UCPS superintendents and directors, worked on private residences.

The Shiloh group cleaned school buses, painted doors and power washed the building, while the others helped with such things as painting, cleaning gutters and pruning shrubs and flower beds of area homes.
