Brandon Panos, a third grader, shows off his art work. Brandon's sister, Kendall, also had artwork on display.

Beginning this week, twenty-two students from Poplin have art on display at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews. The hospital held a reception for the students on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. The work will be on display until December 11, 2011. You can see it in the hallway between the main lobby and the emergency room. For years Presbyterian Hospital has supported art in our schools through this program of displaying work from students in the area.

Poplin Art Teacher Sarah Harlow said, “My focus this year is to have students explore the world through art. Students will travel to each continent as they learn different art techniques.” Harlow also commented, "This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their talent with the community."  The artwork displayed at Presbyterian Hospital includes pieces from China, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, and Panama.
