Shiloh hosts an EC Parent Information Session

Shiloh Elementary School opened its doors to the community on September 28th to host an informational session for parents on our EC program. The event was communicated to the Shiloh community through the school website, flyers, and a Blackboard Connect phone message.

Mr. Spencer approached the EC team with the idea of hosting a parent session, and he was met with an overwhelmingly positive response. “I am so proud of our EC team and the way that they took on the responsibility for organizing this event for our school community. From the very beginning, the EC team worked together to create an informative and professional presentation for our parents in attendance.”

Several of Shiloh’s EC staff members took part in the planning and presentation of the material. Parents learned about the EC services offered at Shiloh as well as the process for entering the program. EC Teacher Dee Hasty stated, “This program helped us to strengthen the home-school connection.”

The following Shiloh staff members worked together to create and deliver a PowerPoint presentation on our EC program to parents: Jessika Guzman- Speech; Dee Hasty-EC Teacher; Laura Stratton-EC Teacher; Karen Rampey- EC Pre-K Teacher; Nora Mills- Occupational Therapy Teacher; Monica McGinniss- Guidance Counselor.

Also in attendance were Mr. Spencer, Ms. Knight, and UCPS Assistant Superintendent for Auxiliary Services Dr. Patterson.

“It was a great experience for us to share our knowledge with the parents,” remarked Mrs. Guzman.

The Shiloh staff truly thanks all parents and guests who were able to attend this event.
