Ryan Haimer and Dona Phillips(back to camera), Resource Teachers shares strategies parents can use at home with their children.

The Exceptional Children’s Program at Sun Valley Elementary School held their First Annual Curriculum Night on January 25, 2010. The EC Team, including Teachers, Administrators, Speech Pathologist, and the school’s Guidance Counselor began the session with introductions and a brief summary of the programs offered at the school. Breakout areas were set up for parents to view current curriculum material utilized in the classrooms, demonstrations on strategies parents can use at home with their children, and handouts containing resources and websites were distributed. Several parents and family members were able to attend and were given the opportunity to speak with staff members throughout the school. Nora Culp, a parent of a student at Sun Valley wrote, “She learned so many new things and left with so many new resources”.   The Exceptional Children’s Team would like to specially thank those parents that dedicated their time to attend our curriculum night.
