Kids on Track for a Cure Cancer Walk
Shiloh Elementary students, parents, staff, and friends gathered at the Shiloh track on Saturday, October 15th for the 1st Annual “Kids on Track for a Cure Cancer Walkâ€. The purpose of this event was to walk laps to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. Participants enjoyed music, food, fellowship, and a visit from WSOC-TV’s Natalie Pasquarella. Ms. Pasquarella hosted the event and provided encouragement to all who were in attendance. A representative from WSOC 103.7 FM was also at the event to provide music to the group. In attendance at the walk were UCPS Director of Support Services Dr. Debbie Taylor, UCPS After School Program Specialist Mrs. Linda Fisher, Shiloh Principal Mr. Scott Spencer, and members of Shiloh’s After School Team.
The event raised over $1,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Charlotte on October 29th. The entire event was organized by Mrs. Vickie Johnson, Shiloh’s After School Director. Vickie’s Angels, a team of Shiloh’s After School staff, parents, and students are representing Shiloh Elementary for the second year at the October 29th walk in uptown Charlotte. Anyone interested in supporting or joining Vickie’s Angels in our campaign in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk can contact Mrs. Johnson at 704-296-3041 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
