"Kids On Track for the Cure" Raises $$
On Saturday, October 15, Shiloh ASP presented "Kids On Track for the Cure" from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Participants accepted donations for walking laps around the track behind Shiloh Elementary. Everyone also welcomed Natalie Pasquarella from WSOC-TV and a representative from WSOC 103.7 FM who visited to provide support and encouragement to the walkers.
Parents and staff are congratulated for raising over $1,000 which was given to the American Cancer Society to further breast cancer research and treatment. Plans are already being made to make next year's walk even bigger and better! In addition to those who participated in the walk, we thank the following local businesses for their donations: Dunkin' Donuts and Lowe's Home Improvement of Indian Trail, The Petal Shoppe of Monroe, Chick-fil-a of Wesley Chapel, and Robert McCollom and Craig Cook of AEP in Indian Trail.
On Saturday, October 29, program coordinator Vickie Johnson, staff members, parents and students will be walking as "Vickie's Angels" in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in downtown Charlotte. For more information or to express interest in walking with the group, contact Mrs. Johnson at 704-296-3041.
