Sweet Union donates books

Sharon Cross and Diane Pomykacz donate books to Union Elementary. (L to R: Jennifer Williams, Jennifer Deaton, Sharon Cross, Diane Pomykacz)

Book are an important part of any school. Students use them for research, teachers use them for teaching tools, and everyone loves to read for fun! The best books are the ones that teach us important information while sharing a great story at the same time. This week two ladies from our community stopped by to share some books that do just that. Sharon Cross, president of Sweet Union Republican Women, and Diane Pomykacz, vice president, brought Union's library five books that teach readers about the government. These non-partisan books, written by Peter W. Barnes and his wife Cheryl Shaw Barnes, are colorful pictures books for children to read and learn about the government. The books were also autographed by one of the authors. We are thankful to the Sweet Union Republican Women's group for their generous donation.

The following books were donated:

  • Woodrow for President
  • Washington, DC ABC's
  • Cappy Tails
  • President Adams' Alligator
  • House Mouse Senate Mouse
