Our hearts are on Haiti

Students present a check in the amount of $3,403.26 to Ms. Sheila Crunkleton, Director of Development for Red Cross in Union County, to help with the Haiti relief effort.

When French I students at Marvin Ridge Middle learned of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, they brainstormed ideas for fundraising the very next day. They initiated a school-wide dollar collection which they named “Hearts on Haiti” and quickly got to work! They placed posters throughout the building and collected money daily for one week through homeroom teachers in envelopes which they also made and decorated. On Tuesday, February 9th, these students presented a check in the amount of $3,403.26 to Ms. Sheila Crunkleton, Director of Development for Red Cross in Union County, to help with the Haiti relief effort.
