Shiloh student is ready for Valentine's Day
Shiloh students in grades Kindergarten through fifth participated in Character Day recently, in which they dressed as their favorite book characters and walked in a Character Parade at the school. Shiloh Elementary concluded a school-wide character unit by celebrating with a Character Parade.
Throughout the unit, students studied characters from different genres of literature, with each grade focusing on characters differently according to their grade level. Students, as well as staff, were encouraged to dress up as a favorite media center or library book character.
Students had to be able to tell who their characters were and why they were a favorite character. Students of all ages, K-5, showed their excitement for reading by carrying their favorite book, sharing during Reader's Workshop in class, and walking in our Character Parade!
