Former Student, Ben Cawthon, leaves a legacy at Stallings Elementary
Ben was part of the first class of Stallings Elementary in 2009. He was a very creative, inventive student, and chose to test his creativity in a sandwich design competition through Arnold Bread Company. Ben's sandwich was called "Mama's Best,." It was a delicious concoction of wheat bread, muenster or swiss cheese, meat, spicy mustard, raspberry jelly, and sprouts. Online voters chose Ben's sandwich as the winner in the 9-12 age division.
Part of Ben's prize was $5,000 for his elementary school. Stallings Elementary chose to add to their growing technology, and purchased a Promethean Board and an iMac computer. In addition to the school prize, Ben was also awarded a savings bond of $1,500. Ben has chosen to save his money for a college education, where he would like to continue in his pursuit of creative development. His dream is to attend film school in New York and learn about film or video game production. The Arnold Bread Company has helped kick off his journey towards success. And in the process, the students of Stallings elementary will delight in some technological creativity of their own, thanks to Ben Cawthon and his award winning sandwich.
