Eagles Live TV
A new and exciting event at East Elementary School is the live daily broadcast. For several years the students at the school were not able to begin their school day with a televised morning show of announcements. That all changed this school year as a result of new construction and the dedication of the members of the Eagles Production Company. At the beginning of the school year students were selected for the broadcast team through teacher recommendations and auditions. Once the seven students were identified they met with Mrs. Hansen, the Media Specialist, to develop a plan for the daily live show. The students decided to form the Eagles Production Company and chose the jobs that were needed for each broadcast: anchor, camera operator, cue cards, weather reporter, producer, and director. Each morning at 7:20 Janay Nixon, Carolina Quintana Ocampo, Jessica Cruz, Brian Coss, Brian Figueroa, Matthew Duran, and Antonio Palacios report to the Production Room to prepare for the 7:30 broadcast that airs daily on channel 19 on the school-wide network. The group of students meets each Thursday during their lunch break to plan upcoming events for the broadcast. Some of the special events covered on the broadcast are reports about important Americans, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizing special holidays, celebrating Black History Month, and highlighting student achievements. Look for more exciting shows from the Eagles Production Company!
