The fourth grade got festive on February 25. As a culminating activity to the study of Festivals of North Carolina, classrooms became the sites of the Mt. Olive Pickle Festival and the Woolly Worm Festival. Pre-K and first graders attended the festivals. At the Pickle Festival, students had a pickle-packing contest, learned a song that explained the process a cucumber goes through to become a pickle, and even voted to see if they liked pickles and ice cream together--picklelicious! Students created cotton and clay caterpillars at the Woolly Worm Festival. They also played "guess the number of worms" and had their picture taken as a wooly worm.
