World Languages Week

Mrs. Janeva Bailey’s Spanish 2 third period class has been studying a unit called “Un Evento Especial,” or, “A Special Event.” They learned that many people in Peru wear brightly colored ponchos for special events. The class decided to create some brightly colored ponchos to wear for their own special event - Costume Day - as they celebrated World Languages Week, along with the other foreign language classes, March 1 - 5. Students brought in their own fabric and cut it into ponchos during class. Pictured are Taylor Wade, Nick Bertrand, and Amanda Shuttleworth showing off their creations! Here were some of the other events of the week:

Monday, March 1 - Door Decoration Day w/ South American themes

Tuesday, March 2 - Inter-Language Club Breakfast and Club T-Shirt Day: French and Spanish clubs ate croissants and crepes with Nutella and strawberry jam, and drank Spanish hot chocolate

Wednesday, March 3 - National Costume Day

Thursday, March 4 - Music Video Day - Groups of students made music videos
