Presbyterian presents defibrillators

Presbyterian Hospital Matthews' Sheila McNulty, chief operating officer, at left, and Judy Page, community health nurse educator recently presented eight automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to the Union County Public Schools' Lead Athletic Director, Doug Jones.

Presbyterian has partnered with UCPS's athletics program to ensure that students have access to critically important resources like AEDs and other medical supplies, as well as team physicians on site for games.

Earlier this month, Dr. Eric Warren of Waxhaw Family Physicians and Sports Medicine Center along with Judy Page and Sharon Hinson of Presbyterian Hospital Matthews presented to nearly 300 coaches and staff in Union County about sports injuries and the importance of knowing how to operate an AED.
