The Knight Run returns to New Salem!
We are very excited to announce that our 2nd Annual Knight Run will be held on Thursday, April 1st. This event will allow us to raise funds to continue to support our goal of providing an excellent education program to your children.
Family and friends can support your child's participation by making donations. Starting on Friday, March 19th your child should begin to receive "donation pledges" based on the amount of laps they run in the Knight Run. Each person that they ask for pledges can either donate based on the amount of laps your child runs or can donate one total amount. We are placing a "lap cap" of 35 laps for each student. Students can choose to complete more than 35 laps if they wish, but the most they can receive a donation for is 35.
The week following the Knight's Run your child will contact the people who pledged monetary donations to collect them. However, we ask the children not go door-to-door or ask strangers for donations. All checks should be made payable to New Salem Elementary PTO. The deadline for your student's collections to be turned in is Friday, April 16th.
We would also like to invite every parent or guardian to come out the day of the event to cheer on your child as they participate in the Knight Run. We will be contacting a few approved volunteers to assist with the Knight Run.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
- K-1st 8:00-9:00
- 2nd & 3rd 9:15-10:15
- 4th & 5th 10:30-11:30
The Knight Run is a fun event that helps our students understand the importance of physical activity and teamwork. With your support, we can truly make a difference in our school!
There will be some amazing prizes for our top 10 collectors!
- 1st place winner will receive a Wii game system
- 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive a Nintendo DSI
- 4th thru 10th place winners will receive a gift certificate
- The Top grade level will receive an ice cream party
