Japanese Culture Club
The third grade students Sun Valley Elementary School have been studying Asia as part of their school wide globalization project. To help give a more hands on approach to learning more about Asia, the Japanese Culture Club at South Piedmont Community College visited Sun Valley Elementary School Tuesday, March 23. The club presented to all the third grade class in the media center. Students learned a lot more about food, dress, and pop culture with the Japanese Culture Club. Most questions asked at the end of the presentation related to anima (Japanese graphic novels). Chihoko Terry demonstration of how to make an origami balloon was video taped and will be placed on the school's website for students to practice this traditional paper folding technique.
