Individual schools will be conducting fabulous activities during the school day. At Sardis Elementary School, there will a theme each week, including hat day, pajama day, and dress whacky day. Sardis students are also participating in a poster contest and music facts are being featured each morning on the school's broadcast.

At Marvin Elementary School, fifth-grade students, integrating with their social studies unit, will march in battle formation to reenact the Civil War, all the while playing the song "Yankee Doodle" on their recorders.

Marvin Elementary students will also read Dr. Seuss stories and then translate them onto classroom instruments while improvising, reading, and composing music. At the end of the month, parents will be invited to visit the music room to hear all the wonderful things their children have created.
