Employee Training and Professional Development Opportunities

The Child Nutrition Program offers a variety of training opportunities for both managers and cafeteria staff. At the beginning of each school year, an entire day of training is conducted for all employees on the topics of sanitation, new products, and school safety. In addition, classes are offered throughout the year in areas such as cashier training, HAACP, ServSafe, Healthy Edge or Smart Options, money handling, customer service, cost analysis, inventory, quality control and other food service and business courses.

All managers are required to have food-safety certification in the form of the ServSafe certificate, which must be renewed every three years. These classes help to keep employees on the cutting edge of sanitation, food safety, and procedures utilized by Child Nutrtition Program.
