Tri-Berry Plastics Corp of Union County visited Sun Valley Elementary School

Tri-Berry Plastics Corp of Union County visited Sun Valley Elementary School media center to teach the school’s third grade students more about recycling and Earth Day, which is on April 22, 2010.  Students had very hands on demonstration that involved playing games, feeling raw materials, and watching a short skit produced by LaShonya Tollam and music by Teresa Miller sung to the tune of Michael Jackon’s Beat It.  Students had fun learning the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle and how we need to work together to help solve the world’s energy needs.  Patrice Parker, principal, and Jennifer Stephenson, third grade teacher, worked together to help make this learning opportunity come alive for our children.  Parker feels as a global aware school, all of her students need to be aware and practice good recycling.  The more we educate our children with opportunities like these, the more we make the world a better place.
