CHS Students Teach 2nd Grade

Junior, Brendon Reid asks New Town students questions about amphibians.

On March 29, seventeen CHS students traveled to New Town Elementary School to teach a lesson to second graders about animal characteristics. The students were made up of Biology Club members as well as former science students of Mrs. Maya Schultz. Pictured is junior Brendon Reid asking New Town students questions about amphibians. Brendon reflected, “It was kind of funny because we had a problem getting the projector to work and we had to improvise and come up with more activities on the spot. We definitely got a taste of what it’s like to be a teacher because to keep the attention span of a second grader is pretty hard.”
