FFA Hosts "Wake Up to Ag Day"

The CHS FFA Club sponsored "Wake Up to Ag Day" April 20. Third graders from New Town, Waxhaw, and Kensington Elementary Schools visited to learn about various aspects of agriculture. Students spent time in each area including animals, farm machinery, and the greenhouse. FFA students were on hand to give information and answer questions at all of the stations. The animals included a horse, goat, turkey, rooster, hen, rabbits, dogs, and even a mouse.In the greenhouse, students were given the opportunity to plant sunflower seeds that they could keep. Pictured are sophomore Morgan Ries; freshmen Rozzie Standing, Andrew Sileo, Samantha Baker, and Katie Kamin; and junior Laura Serran with Fable, a Clydesdale who is only a year and half old, from Honeysuckle Farms in Waxhaw.The CHS FFA is sponsored by teacher Dustin Adcock.
