Who Are the Lady Pirates?

With six returning players, the Lady Pirates dominated much of the game. Defensive backs, Sydney Fisher who had an average of 9 points per match, and Eryn Vance played well offensively and defensively. Setters Kelly McCarthy and Sarah Welch were able to set to Amanda Wagoner, a middle hitter who made 7 kills per match and who served an unbelievable 15 points in the first match. Taylor Davis blocked and served exceptionally well which continued to frustrate the Spartans.

The younger players on the team also did very well - Anna Morgan, Alexis Cotter, Alexis Jordan and Courtney Wilson worked tirelessly to bring the team to its undefeated status. Team manager, McKenna Carpenter, practiced with the team, supported and encouraged the team during their games.

The team was led by Coach Jennifer Cassell-Schwenk.  When asked what the best part of coaching is Coach Cassell-Schwenk said, "I was extremely fortunate to ahve a dedicated and committed team whose focus was volleyball every day after school.  I looked forward to teaching new strategies and game plans, but the best part of coaching was seeing the girls imporve from August to October."
