Union students participate in art show

Adam Taylor, 2nd grader, works to prepare his painting for the art show.

The hustle, bustle, and hard work around the art room always pays off for the students at Union Elementary.

The whole month of November, Union Elementary students’ works of art are being featured at Lois M. Edwards Memorial Library in Marshville, NC. Grades kindergarten through fifth, are all represented.

Scarecrow paintings and collages, Matisse Name Design collages, Sunflower drawings, Line Turtle paintings, Very Hungry Caterpillar paintings, and Glue Value Still Life drawings, fill the walls of one room to create this marvelous show.

While you are at the library, why not grab that book you’ve always wanted to read? Kick back and enjoy the atmosphere of what the talented minds of artists and authors alike can create. Let your imagination run free and you may be inspired to draw something, write a story, or even paint your own masterpiece.

Later this school year, Union Elementary students will look forward to being featured in the Spring County Show and PTO Art Shows, as well as, another not to be missed show scheduled at the Lois M. Edwards Memorial Library in March.

For those who don’t make it to our shows, students’ artwork is always on display in the hallways at the front of the school. This gives the walls brilliant splashes of color and is a meaningful way to show off the newest sets of skills our students learn in Ms. Woods art class.
