Fill Good Supports Cuthbertson Band Program
The Cuthbertson Mighty Marching Cavalier drum line and rock band performed at the October 1, 2011 Grand Opening of the BP Fill Good station located at the corner of Providence and Cuthbertson Roads. Fill Good owners, Amy and Olin Furr, are supporting the Cuthbertson Band Booster organization by becoming the band program’s first platinum sponsor.
The Cuthbertson Band program has been very visible in the community. Since the schools opening in 2009 the Band has been providing concerts, marching shows, and performing in many local parades such as the Monroe and Waxhaw Christmas Parades and the Wesley Chapel Fall Festival Parade. The Band has hosted the Western Carolina University Wind Ensemble on tour, participated in honor bands in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, and was recently accepted to participate in the Walt Disney World Thanksgiving Day Parade of Bands. On October 20, 2011, the Band premiered a new work of music commissioned by our band program from a nationally renowned composer in their Fall Concert.
Mr. Todd Ebert, CHS Band Director, said, “The Furrs saw our program as a vital part of the community. They realized that we were working to expand the Cuthbertson bands reputation outside of Union County. They wanted to be a part of this successful program and choose to contribute as a means of community support. Their contribution supports the band program and provides much needed instruments for the band students. The CHS Band program is one of the fastest growing programs in the area and with so many new students our need for instruments and uniforms is great.â€
We are very proud and appreciative of our sponsors and their dedication to Cuthbertson’s instrumental music program. To learn more about the CHS Band, or to learn how you can become a supporter, please contact Band Directors Todd or Katie Ebert or visit http://www.cuthbertsonband.org.
