Rea View Supports the Troops!

Rea View students have been involved in a month-long “Operation Gratitude” project. Our study and reflection of our Core Essential – “Gratitude”, in combination with the celebration of the Veteran’s Day holiday have provided us with a wonderful opportunity to express our thanks to some service members currently deployed. Classes read one of two Eve Bunting books – The Red Balloon and The Wall together and each child had the opportunity to tell their class about any veterans or active duty service members in their families. Each student then wrote and illustrated a thank you post card to North Carolina National Guard soldiers serving in the Middle East. In addition, several Girls on the Run groups have collected care package items to send along with our letters. We will be sending several boxes of goodies very soon! The students’ thank you letters and accompanying pictures were kind and authentic expressions of their gratitude towards those working to serve and protect our country. I am certain that those who receive them will appreciate the gracious and generous Red Wolf Spirit!
