It's A Contest That Could Save A Life!!!
Sarah and Reagan Walters are on a mission. They want to take your pocket change and turn it into a lifesaving donation. Last year, their father, Vann Walters was a bone marrow donor. He was registered with the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry and received a call that he was a match for someone who desperately needed a marrow transplant to save his life. Vann agreed to the procedure and not only became his daughters’ hero but a total stranger’s as well.
Be The Match is the organization that runs the national bone marrow registry. Each year thousands of patients with leukemia and other life-threatening diseases depend on bone marrow donors to make life-saving donations. Be The Match provides the unique opportunity to save lives just by simply registering or donating your time and money. All it takes is a willing heart and a cotton swab to become registered. Sarah and Reagan are running a fundraising contest between 4th period classrooms to see which class can raise the most donations for Be The Match. The funds will go to the organization to help cover the costs of registering and typing patients’ tissue as well as raising awareness for the need for donors. The class that raises the most funds will receive a sweet treat party as a thank you for their generosity.

REMEMBER!!! Dig deep in those pockets and you could be a part of saving someone’s life. The contest ends April 29th!
