Shiloh’s Girls on the Run triumph in Ginger Snap 5K!
On December 3rd, Shiloh’s Girls on the Run team participated in the annual “GOTR†Ginger Snap 5K road race in historic downtown Waxhaw. Led by coaches Mrs. Carrie Ganc (5th grade teacher) and Ms. Nicole Kozma (5th grade teacher), the girls practiced each week since the start of the school year for this race. Our girls showed up bright and early on Saturday morning to prepare for the race. Their anticipation and excitement was evident as they met as a group and put on their racing numbers.
Parents, staff members, and all those in attendance at the race were able to see our girls proudly make their way through the race. The girls were even treated to a surprise visit by Blaze, our school mascot, while at the finish line! After the race, the girls were able to spend time with friends and family as they were treated to a variety of drinks and food provided by the race sponsors. The Ginger Snap race ends the fall season for GOTR. There will be a spring season that will start up in 2012. We certainly look forward to another great upcoming season with our Shiloh GOTR team. Way to go, girls. We are proud of you!
