We CELEBRATE Girls and just have FUN!
Girls On The Run is a program that teaches girls to take good care of themselves both physically and emotionally. They focus on excerise, good eating habits, self-esteem, anti-bullying, peer pressure, character education, and more.
Girls in grades 3-5 are invited to join. In the most recent session, Rocky River had 15 participants. The girls practice two days a week, Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00-3:30 p.m. They enjoy coming to the practices which are lead by Mrs. Henry, Mrs. Burris, and Mrs. Daly.
Girls On The Run focuses on giving back to the community, and over the years, our school's group has completed community service projects. Last year, the girls hosted a canned food drive, and this year they made goody bags for Rocky River staff members.
This season concluded with the GingerSnap Run on Saturday, December 3rd in downtown Waxhaw. It is a 5K race, which is 3.1 miles. The girls did a great job and we are all so proud of their accomplishments.
