Kensington recognized as a "Featured Partner" in World View's Newsletter!

Kensington Elementary School third and fourth grade classrooms participate in the “Global Children’s Challenge”, a program that integrates global awareness, math, and healthy living. As children exercise and keep record of their steps on pedometers, those steps are added and are translated to miles traveled around the world. Students in first grade research their family heritage and use that information to create graphs reflecting the data. This has also inspired more interest, conversation, and higher use of multicultural literature in everyday class instruction. Upper grades integrate “CNN Student News” into their weekly instruction so that the children not only become more aware of the world, but gain a higher understanding of world issues and media literacy.
