Winter Break Reading Incentive is a Success!
Research shows that students experience some amount of regression when they are not in school. An easy way to avoid the typical “reading regression†is to encourage your children to read 20 minutes every day and to pick out books he or she will enjoy.
At Stallings Elementary, we had over 150 students read 14 out of the 17 days during the winter break. (about 80% of the time!) The readers turned in the completed “Winter Break Reading Incentive†form to our literacy facilitator, Mrs. Kramb, during our first week back to school. All of the forms are now on display in the front hallway. Also, there was a drawing for free books for 30 lucky readers in Kindergarten-5th grade! Click here to see those lucky students! Congratulations to all of our readers! All students win with reading!
