No Bones About It
Mrs. Nancy Chorney’s third grade class learned all about the bones in the human body. Using several different types of pasta noodles, the class made representations of the human body. Each student had to figure out how many “bones†(noodles) they would need in order to complete the “skeletonâ€.
This activity was one of many in which Mrs. Chorney’s class did to learn more about the bones in our bodies. The class also dissected owl pellets and recreated the skeleton of the rodent(s), which the owl had eaten. They were surprised to learn that rodents have many of the same bones as humans!
