Dental Van visits Marshville Elementary

The Friendly Neighborhood Dental Van visits Marshville Elementary school and other UCPS schools about every 6 months for cleanings. Last year, they saw 119 students from MES and this year so far have seen 75. Dr. Gregory Abrams founded the mobile dental program in 2002 and has recently added a second mobile van to the practice. They offer complete dentistry including exams, cleanings, x-rays, sealants and cavity treatment as well. The students love the upbeat attitude of the staff and van manager, "DAN, DAN, THE DENTAL VAN MAN", pictured above with School Nurse, Erin Moore. Students enjoy movies that are seen on flat screen TV's, kid friendly decor, and of course, goody bags with toothbrushes. Each student receives a report card about their dental visit that day. They accept Medicaid, NC Health Choice, most regular dental insurance and cash payments. Be on the look out for the Friendly Neighborhood Dental Van form to come home in your child's book bag. Thank you to Dr. Abrams and his staff for all that they do for our students!
