Fourth Grade Models Artwork after St. Basil's Cathedral

In Art class, fourth graders recently studied the iconic architecture of St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow, Russia. Students identified and analyzed the architectural style and details found on the cathedral.  Students used that information to create their own Russian castles. The students' artwork was created by using a wax and watercolor resist technique. This allowed the students to showcase the bright and bold colors found on the original building. The fourth graders further explored Russian culture by learning some common words and phrases in the Russian Language such as “hello”, “good-bye”, “yes” and “no”.
