CHS Juniors Hear "Arrive Alive" Message

Nick, Josh, and Peggy Bennett visited CHS to deliver a "Don't Drink and Drive" message to the junior class.

In 2001, Josh Bennett, age 18 at the time, barely survived a single car crash after drinking with friends. Josh is the son of Nick and Peggy Bennett. The family visited CHS April 29, the day before Prom, to deliver a powerful message to the junior class: Don't Drink and Drive.  Mrs. Bennett recalled the emotional story of the night they got the call that Josh had been involved in a terrible accident, and the five month coma and extended period of recovery and rehabilitation that has resulted from it. The family now visits schools to deliver the message that just one bad decision can change your life forever and that they hoped their story may help to save even just one life. Josh spoke to the class with the message that he hoped to save them all.  "Josh's story is heartbreaking, but it's real. If a story like that doesn't make you think, then I don't know what will," said junior Ellie Ketcham.
