First Grade Students Give Back
The first grade classes worked together to collect food items for needy families in our community during the holiday season. The boys and girls brought food to create delicious holiday meals. These items were put in a decorated basket and delievered to local families. Each basket contained items like turkey, corn, potatoes, bread or rolls, coffee, green beans, sugar, stuffing, pies and gravy. We collected enough food to feed over twenty-five people.
The students learned the importance of giving back to their neighbors and community. Each class was taught and reminded that they should be very thankful for what they have. Students now realize that economic diversity does exist in our community and to help those in need whenever we can.
