4th grade to Raleigh
Fourth grade had an exciting day on Thursday, March 8th when they traveled to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Students had the chance to explore the museum and got to see an 8-foot interactive globe, live butterflies, live animals in five habitats and a 20 – foot waterfall. The students had several opportunities to participate in hands-on activities and to handle live animals.
On the way home students stopped at Town Creek Indian Mound where they were given a weapons demonstration of how Native Americans would have killed their food to feed their families. Students were amazed! They were then given a tour of different structures that would have been used by Native Americans.
All in all it was a fantastic day. Thanks to all the parents who came to chaperone and made this day possible.
