Kindergarten is techno-savvy!
This year, Mrs. Greene's class has been working on incorporating technology into their classroom activities. Students learned to use the Promethean Board first. They have used it to listen to stories on Bookflix and Tumblebooks, watch videos in science and social studies, do different math activities and write stories in interactive writing and writers' workshop.
Most recently, students have begun to use laptops in math to practice math skills on the program, Think Central. This program goes along with the lessons taught in math class. It allows them to have extra practice in the daily skills learned, such as addition, subtraction and making teen numbers.
In addition to the laptops, Mrs. Greene's class just received three newer computers for students to use during centers to listen to books on Bookflix, Tumblebooks and complete ten frame activities on the Illuminations website.
Mrs. Greene's students have enjoyed these technological additions to their classrooms this year and are becoming more and more techno-savvy!
