A Dr. Seuss Extravaganza!
Recently, Dr. Seuss events occurred at Sardis in honor of his birthday. You will not believe what happened!
Monday was hat day so everyone got to wear a hat. There was a considerable amount of wacky hats! There was everything from baseball caps to crazy wigs.
Tuesday was red, white and blue day. There was everything from red jerseys to white belts to blue jeans.
Wednesday was wacky day and most people were just plain wacky! There were some people who were not being wacky, but they were wacky for not being wacky! There was one boy who was in a skirt! Mrs. Zorn, our assistant principal, explained how it was the most successful wacky day! People taped things to themselves and ended up drawing on their faces! And wore wigs! Some people got their hair dye on their face!
Sardis and jeans day was Thursday. Many people wore burgandy and gold. The teachers wore all black and looked goth. Sardis spirit!
Friday we had free cupcakes. It was Dr. Seuss' birthday! The cupcakes had chocolate frosting. Yummy! It was a cupcake party! A lot of the kindergarten and first graders brought out their inner Seuss by dressing up like the characters in the books. Two first grade teachers dressed up like Thing 1 and Thing 2!
This was one of the best weeks at Sardis!
