CATA Senior Participates in Poetry Out Loud Semi-Finals
CATA senior Charlotte Pohlig participated in The North Carolina Arts Council’s Poetry Out Loud Semi-Final Competition Saturday, March 24, 2012, at The Greensboro Public Library.
This competition was held in collaboration with The National Endowment for the Arts, The Poetry Foundation, and The Greensboro Public Library.
Charlotte represented Union County Public Schools reciting “Ego” by Denise Duhamel in Round 1 and “In the Desert” by Stephen Crane in Round 2.
Charlotte’s participation at the state level followed her winning performance for the UCPS District title on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Weddington High School.
She is pictured with North Carolina Poet Laureate Cathy Smith Bowers who presented each semi-final participant with a certificate and literary gifts.
