Reduce, Reuse, Recycle ... Really!
People often throw away useful items that can be used again. What’s worse is that animals can die from the trashy air and garbage they might eat. Everyone should try to reduce, reuse, and recycle instead.
“Items made of plastic, paper, aluminum, and metal can reused or recycled,” says Lydia Taylor, age nine. “When people throw reusable items away, it’s building a bad community.” She has made lots of gifts out of boxes, Popsicle sticks, plastic cups and many more reusable objects.
Abby Leighton, also nine years old, passionately observes, “I care about the animals and our community very much. We can’t let this happen to our country. When people waste things, it’s like they're killing the environment.”
You can make lots of things out of reusable items, such as money containers, boxes to keep useful objects in, and even gifts! “Handmade gifts are the most wonderful gifts of all,” Lydia adds.
Abigail agrees. “No matter how boring things can seem, you can always find some beauty in them,” she says.
"We care very much about the environment and encourage you to recycle." Together they say, “We would do anything to help the environment. What are you willing to do?"
