Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a national program for girls in elementary schools. It teaches valuable character and healthy living lessons while incorporating the exercise of running. The GOTR mission is to†inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Anna Faith Orvin, a fifth grader, said“Girls on the Run teaches you lessons about how to be a good adult.â€She loved spending time with friends and the running was “a blast.â€
Lori Robinette, a fifth grade teacher, and Amanda Orvin, Anna Faith’s mother, were the advisors to the group. Mrs. Robinette said, “I am extremely proud of my girls. They really pushed themselves to do their very best. Their hard work and dedication really paid off.â€
