Walk to School Day!

On Wednesday, May 2nd, 170 Marvin Elementary School students celebrated Walk to School Day by walking and biking to school! An enthusiastic group of parents and teachers greeted the children with music, balloons and prizes.

It was a beautiful Spring morning and it was wonderful to see so many families out encouraging physical activity and sharing community spirit. Special thanks to the deputies from the Union County Sheriff's Department for keeping everyone safe on the way to school.

Also, special thanks to the parent volunteers that helped put together such a fun and energetic morning for all. Walking to school is fun, promotes physical activity, and allows parents, children and friends to enjoy one another's company without the usual distractions.

We look forward to the next Marvin Elementary Walk to School Day celebration in the Fall!
