Outstanding Academic Students Recognized
PRHS held its underclassmen and senior awards ceremonies on May 23 and May 30 during the school day. The awards ceremonies recognize the outstanding academic achievements of students in each academic department.
At the underclassmen awards ceremony, held on May 23, seventeen juniors were recognized as the top of their class as Junior Marshals. They are led by the two head marshals, Victoria Edmonds and Jeffrey Spence. Seventy-two students in grades 9, 10, and 11 were recognized as the best in each department, most improved or received the Pirate Award. In addition, one student, Shelby Ledermann, was recognized as a Global Scholar. The ceremony was followed by a reception.
At the senior awards ceremony, held on May 30, each department recognized three seniors with best in department, most improved and Pirate awards. In addition, seniors who have received scholarships and those graduating with special distinctions were recognized. The ceremony also recognized the seniors who were recipients of senior superlative awards. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the school cafeteria.
