Stallings Elementary Teams Up with JDRF
On March 23, 2012 Stallings Elementary School teamed up with JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International) to increase awareness and raise money for research to find a cure for diabetes. The school held a pep rally and the students collected donations for 2 weeks. Each grade level competed against each other and the kids hung paper sneakers on "tracks" in the hallways. On Monday, June 4, 2012 Stallings Elementary School was awarded 2 awards, "School Rookie of the Year" and "Second Place School" by JDRF for raising $6,732.81!!! We are very proud of our Stallings community for their tremendous efforts.
JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of T1D research. For more information on JDRF click here.
