Letter from Superintendent Dr. Ed Davis

Dr. Ed Davis retires after serving the Union County Public Schools as Superintendent for the past 7 years.

Dear Students, UCPS Employees, Parents, and Citizens:

June 30 will mark my last official day as superintendent of Union County Public Schools. As I reflect back on the past seven years, I am proud of all we have accomplished together. I want to thank all of you for your commitment to our mission of “Preparing All Students to Succeed.” I also appreciate the support and encouragement you have provided to me as I have done my best in this very complex and difficult job. Though there have been some tough issues we have had to confront, leading this school district has been one of the great blessings of my life and career.

Now, as Dr. Mary Ellis takes over as superintendent on July 1, I ask that you support and encourage her as the new leader of UCPS. She is an outstanding leader! I have great confidence that even greater things lie ahead for our students. With the wonderful students, fine teachers, and great parents in UCPS working together, there is no limit to what can be achieved for our students. I look forward to following your many success stories!

Most sincerely,

Dr Ed Davis
